1.
How much does it cost and what are the requirements?
There are a few separate costs to join Anchored. The first is a $150 Registration Fee per family. This non-refundable fee is due at the time of enrollment. The second is curricula costs.
If you check out our curriculum page, you will find the list of required curricula as well as costs paid directly to AFLC for the smaller amount of curricula we provide. The third cost is our monthly tuition fee of approximately $65 per student, which will cover building rent & insurance. Parents are required to order their child's curricula and have it ready for use before the start of classes. Parents are also required to volunteer their time to teach classes and serve on committees.

What grades does AFLC have?
Anchored is Kindergarten through High-School. K-8 will be separated into several different groups during the day, depending on the subject. In general, the grade groups are as follows-Kindergarten, 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 7-8 and HS.

Will all core subjects be covered?
Core subjects will be covered using AFLC's chosen curricula in Bible, math, language arts, history, and science. These subjects are taught both at home and on-campus, with students bringing the curricula back and forth. Anchored does not hire teachers. Instead, our parents serve as parent-teachers. Guiding the students through the curricula together during class time and teaching their own children at home.

How do I enroll my family?
Our classes have been consistently full since we were established! In the case of openings in classrooms, we will reach out to families on our waitlist with children in that specific grade grouping. We require a phone call interview, and an in-person tour, where we can meet your student and you the parent before enrollment. Our program requires parent involvement. Occasionally once families have toured they realize they cannot put in the time needed to be a part of Anchored. We strive to be as transparent as possible about the effort you will need to put in before you enroll. The interview and meeting also help us to get to know you and see if you will be a good fit in our classrooms. If you are interested in getting on our waitlist please fill out our contact form below. Is AFLC accredited?
Anchored is a community of parents working together to educate our children. We have no state-certified teachers, nor are we accredited by a private organization. We trust that YOU, as the parent, want the best for your children in their education and will put forth the effort to work together to achieve this. Anchored uses quality curricula that go above and beyond public school standards.

What will I do with my non-school age children while I am volunteering?
Our goal is to have childcare on campus. Younger siblings are always welcome in the classroom, provided they are not a distraction for the students. We trust our parent volunteers will always use their best judgment in this area.
8.
What about children who are not at grade level or have a learning disability?
We believe you are your child's best advocate. If your child needs individualized attention in an area or subject, this may require more volunteering on your part. You may also decide to choose a lower grade level in one or more of our subjects if needed. Anchored is separated into grade groupings, and we believe this is beneficial to students of every level. They can socialize and learn with children of similar ages as well as doing bookwork at their individual levels.
What are WA state requirements for me to home school my kids?
Parent's are solely responsible for fulfilling the WA state requirements to legally homeschool. These include, but are not limited to, filling out the appropriate forms and yearly testing. Enrolling your child in Anchored does not affect what you need to still do to home school in Washington. Please email us if you have any questions about state requirements!
